Which Method Cleans Best?

Dry Chem (bonnet cleaning): This method is similar to dry foam, but the company sets a large cotton bonnet on your carpet. The rotating motion causes the bonnet to absorb dirt from your carpet. It's like trying to rub the dirt out of your carpet with a towel or mop.... it's not very effective.
Dry, absorbent powder: The dry-compound method spreads a moist, absorbent powder through your carpet. The powder is allowed to dry and sucked into a vacuum. This method leaves dry sponge particles at the base of the carpet yarn. Because your carpet is not rinsed, this method is not very effective.
Hot water extraction: A hot water cleaning solution, under high pressure, is forced into your carpet and then sucked out of your carpet.
In a recent technical bulletin, Shaw Industries, the world's largest carpet manufacturer,
"recommends the hot water extraction system, which research indicates provides the best capability for cleaning."
Shaw's Technical Bulletin suggests you choose, "cleaning...done from a truck-
mounted unit outside the facility with only the hose and wand brought inside."
Shaw recommends the truck-mounted unit because it cleans much better because it heats the water to a higher temperature and injects the cleaning solution into the carpet at higher pressures. This breaks up the dirt, bacteria, chemicals and pollens in the carpet. Then the machine uses high suction to draw the dirt and chemicals out of your carpet.
This is the method Deep Root Carpet Care uses.
No question, the most effective way to clean carpeting is with a hot-water unit mounted in a truck. It's the most powerful cleaning machine on the market and the only machine that cleans your carpet of dirt, harmful bacteria, fungus, chemicals, pollens and tobacco residue.
Some people believe that hot water damages your carpet,
but this isn't true. By washing and then rinsing your carpet with hot water, we clean your carpet completely - in the same way you wash your clothes, by putting them through a wash and rinse cycle - never once thinking of drying them with the soap still in them.

Carpet Cleaning vs. Carpet Restoration:

IICRC standards say that all carpets should be cleaned and protected every six months by an IICRC certified cleaner using a truck mounted steam cleaning method. Home & Industrial carpet cleaning is stated as a method to maintain a carpet for health, stains, and wear.

Carpet restoration is used on carpets that haven’t been cleaned and protected every 6 months for the life of the carpet. Regular carpet cleaning can leave your carpet clean, healthy and stain free for up to 20 years, whereas carpet restoration uses stronger solutions and leaves the carpet clean and healthy. However, wear marks from dirt residue and stains will set and ruin an improperly treated carpet.

Tips on Preparing for a Cleaning:

Remove small items from carpet such as clothes, toys, magazines, and vacuum carpets thoroughly. Secure pets that cannot go outside unsupervised.

The Cleaning Process for Carpets:

What is steam cleaning? Steam cleaning uses hot water for cleaning and powerful suction for quick dry times. The water is pumped through the mobile plant located inside the van, from your water spigot outside, or, if one is not available, from a large fresh water tank on board. It is mixed with a cleaning agent and sprayed down on your carpet at high pressure and heat for maximum penetration and cleaning power. The dirty water is then extracted from your home and pumped into a holding tank on board the van.
Only a High Powered truck mount system can provide this much power and heat that a portable unit couldn't possibly come close to.

Tips After Cleaning Has Been Performed:

Our technicians will move and replace basic movable furniture and will place disposable plastic blocks under the legs until the carpet is dry. Then you simply remove them, and throw them away.

The Cleaning Process for Upholstery:

The upholstery cleaning uses the same truck mount equipment as for carpet cleaning but uses a different cleaning tool. First, your furniture is pre-treated with a special upholstery cleaning agent to loosen dirt, food proteins and body oils for removal. Then it is extracted under high heat and suction to produce clean, nearly dry results.
